Every new project is viewed with fresh eyes - I try to avoid formulaic answers to gardens and make every effort to pay attention to detail and quality of workmanship. I like to work closely with clients, providing guidance and specialist knowledge on materials, features and planting to achieve the garden space they really want.

I’ve worked as a professional garden designer for nearly twenty years and have accrued a wealth of knowledge, having previously worked with some highly respected landscape architects and designers, on large scale, high-end projects here in the UK, as well as in the West Indies and Europe. I have also worked on a medal-winning Chelsea Flower Show garden. Since 2009 I have been successfully running my own business, working on private residences, property developments and one or two community gardens.

Plants and planting are my love. In the future I am looking at providing courses and workshops to help spread the word on plants and the joy they give, whilst also tackling such thorny topics as shade and drought tolerant planting.

I started life as an illustrator of children's books, before re-training in garden and landscape design, so I bring an illustrative flair to my designs which help bring them to life and although I’ve been a city dweller for most of my adult life, childhood years were spent in Suffolk and West Wales and both places have instilled a passion for nature, wildlife and landscapes, which I now love to bring to my designs where possible.

Having spent the past 24 years living and working in London, I’ve now relocated to Bristol, but continue to work across the UK with projects in Manchester, Dorset and London.

When I’m not working on gardens, I can either be found visiting gardens, in a book shop looking at books on gardens or in a garden centre.
