A lovely planting job. The garden had already been laid out and the beds were just waiting to be filled. A year on and things are looking good. The client has an excellent eye for plants and colour and knew what she liked.
A mix of architectural plants such as Trachycarpus palms combined with evergreen grasses, Iris and Crocosmia have all grown in well in the side beds. Along the back Rhododendron and Azaleas nestle below a new Magnolia, next to more traditional Phlox and Delphiniums.
Colours range from very pale yellow Sisyrinchium and Rhododendron Patty Bee to the deep red of Hemerocallis Pardon Me, with touches of purple from an existing tree – Cersis Forest Pansy – and Clematis Etoile Violet and Allium Purple Sensation.
